OG REC LEAGUE CODE OF CONDUCT
Welcome to OG Rec League!
We’re thrilled to have you as part of our community. To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for everyone, we've established the following Code of Conduct. By participating in our league, you agree to abide by these guidelines, which reflect our core values of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity.
Code of Conduct:
1. Respect and Fair Treatment:
- Treat all participants, officials, and spectators with dignity and respect, regardless of their background, skill level, or beliefs.
- Discriminatory behavior, including racism, sexism, or any form of harassment, abuse, or bullying, will not be tolerated.
2. Safety and Well-being:
- Always prioritize the physical and emotional safety of yourself and others.
- Avoid actions that could harm others, such as excessive physical play or verbal abuse.
- Report any unsafe conditions, injuries, or concerning behavior to league officials immediately.
3. Compliance with Rules and Regulations:
- Familiarize yourself with the league’s rules, policies, and procedures. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for non-compliance.
- Respect and follow the decisions of league officials and referees. Their rulings are final and made to ensure fair play and safety.
4. Positive Engagement:
- Promote teamwork, camaraderie, and mutual support among all participants.
- Avoid unsportsmanlike behavior, including taunting, trash-talking, disruptive conduct, or intentionally provoking opponents.
- Celebrate good plays by all participants, not just your own team.
5. Substance Use:
- The use of alcohol, drugs, or other substances that impair judgment or performance is strictly prohibited during games and league events.
- Participants found under the influence may be removed from the event and subject to further disciplinary actions.
6. Attendance and Punctuality:
- Arrive on time for games and league activities. Your punctuality helps maintain the schedule and respects the time of others.
- Notify your team captain or league officials in advance if you cannot attend a scheduled game.
7. Conflict Resolution:
- Handle disagreements respectfully and constructively. Avoid escalating conflicts during games or events.
- If issues arise, report them to a league official or mediator for resolution.
8. Sportsmanship and Integrity:
- Play to the best of your ability while respecting the spirit of the game.
- Cheating, intentional rule violations, or attempts to deceive referees or officials will result in disciplinary actions.
9. Parental/Guardian Responsibilities (if applicable):
- Parents or guardians attending games are expected to model respectful behavior and avoid confrontations with players, officials, or other spectators.
10. Use of Facilities:
- Treat all facilities, equipment, and property with care and respect. Any damage caused may result in fines or additional penalties.
